Can Sinterklaas see my child and their drawing?
Yes. Switch on “Sinterklaas can see you” and Sinterklaas sees a photo every time your child speaks. He recognises a drawing, a toy or a costume. Photos are never stored.
The details
The camera is off by default. You switch on “Sinterklaas can see you” in the call settings and confirm a short consent text.
With the camera on, your browser sends Sinterklaas a photo of about 640 by 480 pixels every time your child speaks. That is enough to recognise a drawing held up to the camera.
Sinterklaas only talks about what he can actually see. He is instructed not to guess. If the picture is dark or blurry, he asks to hold it closer.
The photos exist only during the call. We do not store them, and you can switch the camera off at any moment.
The video of Sinterklaas himself is always on. Your child sees him; he 'sees' your child only through those photos.
